[MKOB] Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale

I'll admit it ... it caught my eye and I got a 6-er of it. It's an
Anheuser Busch product. It's a limited edition beer called "Winter's
Bourbon Cask Ale." It has a snowman hoisting a pint on the label.

It's description reads "Brewed with all imported hops and aged on
bourbon oak casks and whole madagascar vanilla beans for a smooth,
robust taste."

This surprised me because I thought AB only made lagers. But these days
breweries are venturing into lots of new types of beers. Anyway, to
make a long story even longer ... it's a real flavorful beer. I don't
really get any hints of vanilla, or for that matter, notice any presence
of oak character. But what I do get, is a good solid brown ale, with
very mild hoppiness (a plus in my book.)

Either way, I'm not an expert on brown ales, just figured I'd mention
this because I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. Or, if you're
into collecting beer bottles ... it's worth having a bottle with a
snowman with a scarf, toque, sunglasses and hoisting a pint.

Cheers and I hope you and your families have a Merry Christmas, and that
2008 grants you health and happiness.

Elvis and Gabe, New Orleans won't be the same without ya!
