BEER ALERT !!!



At Suda Salvage (504-733-3660 5821 Jefferson Hwy New Orleans, LA 70123),
there exists two pallets of good inexpensive beer.  Walk straight to the
back of the store and turn right.  These pallets are:

1. Samuel Smith, (yes, Samuel Smith of Tadcaster, Yorkshire, UK) Selection
Case ($12) consisting of 4 selection boxes, each consisting of Samuel Smith
(each 18 oz. bottle) 1 - Nut Brown Ale, 1 - Pale Ale, 1 - Oatmeal Stout, 1 -
Sam Smith Pint glass, $12 per Selection Case.



This comes down to $1 per 18 oz Sam Smith bottle.  That is $12 per 12
bottles, plus four pint glasses.



On this past Saturday night, Maggie & I tasted, quaffed, sampled, and
enjoyed one bottle each of the Nut Brown Ale, the Pale Ale, and the Oatmeal
Stout.  The Nut Brown and the PA were generally fine, if a bit old.  The
Stout was a bit astringent and a bit old.



My guess is that these are somewhat old.  However, these Sam Smiths seem
generally OK, if a bit old.  However, for a single buck per 18 oz. bottle of
OK Sam Smith, you can't go wrong.

2. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale cases, $.89 per bottle.



I have not tested/tasted/sampled these SN PA.  My guess is that this pallet
is also old.  However, considering the SN PA's hop content, these bottles
might be weathering the warehouse in a manner similar to India Pale Ales.

Indeed, I bought a fair number of the Sam Smiths myself.



In all cases, you pays yo' monies, and you takes yo' chance.  Get cha motor
runnin'; head out on the highway  .   to Suda.
