For those of you who missed the meeting and are interested in building a
poor mans conical fermentor read the articles enclosed in the attachment and
check out the http://www.usplastic.com
and look for the conical containers or inductor tanks item # (#8564). All
you need is the dump valve and racking arm. Any questions call me
(985-871-1044).

Bobby,
You may want to consider another option that is a little more expensive, but
works. US Plastics sells inductor tanks. These are conicals made of
polyethylene and are FDA approved. The 55 gallon inductor tank is about
$114 (#8564). You can also buy a stand from them or build one.
I have been fermenting in a 15-gallon inductor tank for 2 years with great
success. To clean it, I use OxiClean and hot water. No scrubbing
necessary. To sanitize it, I use Star San. I've kept my fermenting beer in
it for up to three weeks with no oxidation.
Frankly, with Stainless Steel prices going thru the roof, this is a viable
poor person's conical.
Hello all,
A large number of you asked for more information about my 15-gallon inductor
tank conical fermenter. My conical is made of polyethylene and is FDA
approved. I call it the frugal conical. Here is link to my site.
