[MKOB] Meeting-Belgian Competition?

Everyone has a different opinion about the methodology
of beer judging.
Even the almighty BJCP judging could be improved by
having a reference beer at each judging. Memory is a
variable and inaccurate way to compare a beer that you
are tasting at the moment with the style standard you
think you remember.
I always question why more people aren't bothered by
the lack of a reference beer at the judging process.
Am I alone on this?
Now, for our little 'beer judging', Peter, I thing it
it wasn't really called a "beer contest". I can see
your point for a real competition or contest, but I
suppose our little 'beer judging' was really an excuse
to drink some different beers in fun.
Here's another suggestion I throw over the fence to
see if any hungry tigers go after it:
How about judging the judges? It would go like this:
Have a few standard reference beers and have the
judges rate them. The judges that score the most
accurate ratings are given a judge multiplier number,
say from 0 to 10. Now when the real beer judging
starts, the better judge's rating number carrys more
weight than a judge with a lesser rating number.
So, if you have 4 judges, let's say, then the weaker
judge's score will be multiplied by his lower rating
number. Now after all scores are tallied, the final
score is divided by the total of each judge's rating
number. This way a lame judge can still have fun,
learn and judge, only his lame opinion will not matter
much.
