[MKOB] mead article

Fellow homebrew enthusiasts,

I wanted to send a small note out, after I read the newest edition
of Zymurgy.

Those of you who know me, know that I like to make mead. And I
usually make at least 1-2 batches a year to put up. I've been doing
this for the better part of a dozen years since I started homebrewing.
And I like to think that I can make a drinkable mead.

With that said, one of the most often asked questions I get is, "how
long can a mead age?" or "how long should I let my mead age?"

There's an article in the current Zymurgy where Charlie Pappazian
writes about tasting 8 or 9 different meads that are 55-60 years old.
And all but one ended up a very nice, drinkable wine, with some being
better then others. They were produced by an acquaintance of
Pappazian's who resided in Scottland, and had run a meadery during the
late 50s and 60s.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the article and thought I might mention it
for anyone of you whom also like making meads.
