Call Me up w/ CU-SeeMe
CU-SeeMe is a desktop video conferencing package available for both
Windowsand Macintosh clients. It works over links as slow as
14k -- video is supported reasonably well for two parties at 28k.
A free version is available from
Cornell University. A
significantly enhanced commercial version can be obtained from
White Pine Software.
CU-SeeMe Calling INFO
I am generally in between 9 and 5pm US Central Standard Time. To call,
take the link below. If you have CU-SeeMe set up as a Browser Helper
application, CU-SeeMe will automatically be started and open the
connection. If not, you will see a numeric IP address. You will
need to bring up CU-SeeMe yourself and manually enter the address shown
to call me up. You can also usually enter the DNS name WASTE.DYN.ML.ORG
in the CU-SeeMe address field to reach me, although this method can be
a bit flaky at times.
IRC Info
I generally hang out at #cu-seeme and #linux on UnderNet as user Mokey.
I am not normally paying attention to what's going on, tho as I have other
things to do. You can leave a message for me there (try /msg mokey) for me,
as I DO periodically check. You can also use the IP address from /whois mokey
to call me via CU-SeeMe. If you want me to call you and I'm not in, do a
/msg mokey with your IP on #cu-seeme (or send me email with the same info; I
get mail pretty promptly these days).
